Unit 8 benefits
The two exercises I benefited the most from was the Journey On meditation from the first unit and the Subtle Mind. I was able to get so relaxed that I slept really peacefully with undisturbed dreams. With all the stuff that go on in my life, with my family, work and school, it use to take a lot for me to relax.. I have enjoyed the peaceful almost light headed feeling I get after one if these practices. It make me feel that I can handle almost any challenge that heads my way no matter how trivial. I use to lose my temper easily and get frustrated with the dumbest things, now I am learning to let these thing go because its not worth getting upset about. Even the things people in my life bring on themselves, not my problem anymore, they have to grow on their own eventually no matter how much you want to hold their hand and guide them back in the right direction. Hopefully I can keep this up and teach my children to do the same thing, nothing is worth losing you mind and health over.

Unit 7
I remember getting comfortable on the couch, listening to the sound of the waves crashing about. I remember trying to picture a wise person, next thing I know my 11 year old is waking me up telling me the recording was over. Granted I was tired yet restless and probably would not have gone to sleep on my own. I tried to listen to it again to get on the words being said but then again went back to step 4. These relaxation sessions really work for me. Since starting this class I have been much calmer at handling stressful situations than I use to. Even the crazy stuff my kids do doesn't bother me too much anymore, I tend not to lose my temper as bad when I have to get on to them now. I even went as far as downloading apps on my iPhone and listening to them when I go to bed at night. I remember starting it and then I am waking up to the sound of my morning alarm. Awesome! I really plan on continuing the use of the relaxation pieces because they help calm my mind and my body. They have helped me find piece within myself and my life. I hope everyone else has enjoyed them and this class as much as I have.
Unless you have been through a certain situation you cannot help a person going through it. You can study nutrition and health and wellness, teach people how to eat better, exercise and lose weight, but if you have not had to fight this same battle it is difficult to understand what a patient or client is going through with their weight issues. Clients have to be able know you understand how they feel and that you can lead them to their goals. Teaching someone how to get in touch with their inner being is no different, you have to have experienced a clear subtle mind and how to forgive in order to lead a person to this. Many teachers grow with their students and learn a lot from them just as the student learns from the teacher. It is important that our psychological, physical and spiritual being are developed in order for us to understand what the student find out about his or herself.

Describe the exercise and assessment process. What did you discover about yourself? What area have you chosen to be a focus of growth and development? Why? What are some specific exercises or activities that you can implement to foster greater wellness in this area?
My exercise and assessment is very confusing. I have had a lot going on in my life that I have so much to sort out. I found my mind is full of endless thought and worries about where I'm going in my life and how my older children are sorting out in their new lives. Most days I stop and tell myself I can't worry about the decisions of others in my life but it's hard not to worry about your children. I discovered I need to focus on me! My biological self has to be focused on. Over the past 10 years I have put on an excessive amount of weight, my eating is out of control and my health is not the best. Many of us are not but mine is a special case that we are not sure of the cause. I would like to do more meditations to ease my mind, I want to be in more control of the way I live and treat myself and my body. I know this is something many people wish they can focus more on and may be a dead subject with them.

Unit 5 A subtle mind
Ah the sound of the ocean is nice. I felt a lot more relaxed with this exercise, maybe because I just had to focus of something in the room with me and not imagine something I honestly didn't have. To me it's easier to calm my mind when I don't have to think about it. I was not frustrated during this exercise either, I had a long day at work and this just let all the tension float away with the sounds of the waves.
Spiritual wellness is important to the mental and physical wellness in the fact it allows you to take care of yourself. Clearing your mind of all the random thoughts and feelings, your mind and body can rest peacefully when you sleep. When you can sleep well you physical body has a chance to heal itself from any physical fatigue that beats your body down.
Since I have started doing these mental exercises, except for one I have slept more soundly and felt well rest the next day. I don't seem to be in pain like I usually am. I have felt better than I have in a long time.
